Charity Event, £10,000 for Children’s Hospice!

A wet and wacky It’s a Knockout charity event held Sunday Sept 26 in Shrewsbury was a raving success according to the Shropshire Star. The 11 teams taking part have hopefully raised in excess of £10,000 for the local Hope House Children’s Hospice.

It was the first of it’s kind in the area and attended by 100′s of supporters, the local Mayor and the football team’s mascots ‘Lenny the Lion’ and ‘Teddy’. The organisers have said the event’s success has suggested this should be an annual charity fund raiser… fingers crossed the ‘It’s A Knockout’ fun bug is forever catching on. Long live Its A Knockout !

Wacky Its A Knockout Charity Challenge

published by South Wales Argus 13th May 2010

A TEAM of builders are gearing up for a range of wacky challenges when they take part in a charity fundraiser. The team from Hands on Building Services, based in Bassaleg, Newport, will take part in It’s a Knockout on June 6.

This has been organised by St David’s Foundation Hospice Care and will raise funds for the charity. Teams will compete against each other at the Welfare Grounds in Rogerstone and will win extra points for being the best-dressed, best joker, best-behaved and for the team which raises the most money. The winning team will be awarded the It’s a Knockout Trophy.

Sarah Thomas from Hands On Building Services said: “All our team have family in the area who have benefited from St Davids Foundation and the brilliant work it does in the past. We are all so very aware, as our families grow, that we need to support local organisations like St Davids Foundation so that they may continue to help the people we love in the present and the future. “
